When visiting religious buildings or a monks dwelling (kuti) it is proper to:
- Remove your shoes before entering.
- When inside, do not step over others sitting on the floor, it is best to lower your head as you walk past those seated on the floor.
- When you sit on the floor, please do not point your feet at the alter. It is best to sit with the feet to one side.
- Please do not touch the murals, they are in advanced in years and in need of TLC, however, photographs are permitted.
- If you want to chat with someone please do so softly as others may want to meditate.
Remember to:
- Be careful of your belongings. Everyone who comes to a Buddhist temple doesn't necessarily keep the five precepts, including thieves.
- Behave respectfully - don't dance, sing, shout or act out while inside the monastery grounds.
- Please dress appropriately - both men and women.
